October 28

Tonight we carved our pumpkins in preparation for Halloween. Will was entertained for about teh first 5 minutes, but quickly got bored. Despite not wanting anything to do with digging out the pumpkin innards, he was all about using the carving tools to "help" us.

October 27

Marc was outside raking leaves this evening and Will did his best to help out. When I tried to show Will how fun it is to throw leaves in the air, he got mad because I was messing up Marc's piles! He dutifully picked up handfuls of leaves and threw them in the yard waste bin.

October 26

Tonight Will thought it was incredibly funny to put a pull up on his head and run all over the house. He's a hoot!

October 25

We went to Hunter's Pumpkin Patch today (Will's 3rd time this season!) and had so much fun! Will examined several pumpkins before settling on the baby one. We had a blast going on the train, in the corn maze and, of course, down the big slide. Our little family had the best time!

October 24

We had dinner with the Dotys and Shimabukuros tonight and we had a great time! It was so nice to relax and hang out with such great friends. It is hard to believe that we've known each other for 17 years. Hopefully we can try to get together more often!

October 23

Tonight Marc and tried an experiment - leaving Will at school for Parent's Night Out instead of me picking him up at the usual time and then taking him back later. We picked Will up at 8 o'clock and he was absolutely fried. It took forever to wrangel him into his diaper, pajamas and brush his teeth. He wouldn't leave the bathroom and head to his room so I picked him up, only to be scratched on the sides of my face. (I look like I've been in a fight!) After we finally got him asleep, Marc and I were exhausted! We won't be doing Parent's Night Out like this again!

October 22

We bought some fruit snacks at the store last week and Will just can't get enough of them. Tonight when I let him have a bag, he also took a pouch out of the box for both Mommy and Daddy. We both got a few of our own fruit snacks before the rest were quickly stolen out of our hands!

October 21

Tonight our neighbor, Cheryl, brought us over a bunch of vegetables that their CSA delivered today. They are giong out of town and won't be able to eat it before they leave. Can't wait to see what I can make with such delicous fall goodies - organic carrots, delicato squash, potatoes, and kale.

October 20

It was a nice afternoon (not raining!) so Will and I spent time in the front yard when we got home. We got to play longer than usual since dinner was already done, thanks to the crockpot. Will doesn't usually smile when I'm taking pictures, so I was pretty happy to capture a nice, big grin.

October 19

Tonight I gave Will a banana and went back into the kitchen to do a few things. When I returned, he had squished the banana all over the table. I asked him, "What happened?" He promptly replied, "A car squished it!" What a little stinker!

October 18

There have been a few Saturday afternoons when Will has watched some "Rodeo" on t.v. after waking up from his nap. Though its been a few months since he's last seen a rodeo, he did reenact a scene from this afternoon!

October 17

We've had our Halloween decorations up in the house since the beginning of the month, but we finally put some outside today. While Marc got our inflatable graveyard ready, I draped spider webs over our shrubs. Will promptly pulled the web off and proceeded to get tangled up in it!

October 16

Tonight we had our first "Family Fun Night." We rented "Cars" and sat on the couch snuggling and eating snacks. The movie was a bit dull (Will only lasted about an hour) but we all enjoyed the popcorn! Next time, we may try playing games or doing a craft.

October 15

Yesterday, Will asked Hannah why she wasn't wearing diapers anymore she told him that she now wears underwear. Will said that he wanted underwear, too. I bought him some with his favorite Marvel comic characters on it and we tried out a pair after dinner. We told him it was important to notice when he needed to use the restroom and let one of us know. While we were playing in his room, Will said, "Mommy, the floor's wet!" Needless to say, he'd gone on the ground. We'll keep trying!

October 14

Each year our neighbor boys, Ryan and Harper, grow pumpkins to earn money. Tonight Will picked out a giant pumpkin from the boys. It feels good to help out the neighbor kids!

October 13

Tonight we made pudding to celebrate Will getting a fireman sticker for napping at school. We, along with Will's teachers, are doing our best to provide positive incentives when Will follows naptime rules - if he's not sleeping, then he at least needs to lay quietly so as to not wake up his friends. As he earns stickers at school, he puts them on a fireman hat after naptime. For every fifth sticker, we'll get him a little toy.

October 4

It was a beautiful and warm fall afternoon, so we rode our bikes up to Friendly Grove Park. Will didn't really want to run around on his own. Instead, he wanted Marc to run while he relazed on his shoulders!

October 3

Our little man wouldn't take a nap today. Here he is looking out the window when he should have been sleeping!

October 2

Will has really been enjoying our cat lately. He tries to pet her every chance he gets. Unfortunately, she doesn't reciprocate Will's love very often.

October 1

Will got some new dog pajamas. Here he is pretending to be our new dog.
