Tonight we carved our pumpkins in preparation for Halloween. Will was entertained for about teh first 5 minutes, but quickly got bored. Despite not wanting anything to do with digging out the pumpkin innards, he was all about using the carving tools to "help" us.

Tonight Marc and tried an experiment - leaving Will at school for Parent's Night Out instead of me picking him up at the usual time and then taking him back later. We picked Will up at 8 o'clock and he was absolutely fried. It took forever to wrangel him into his diaper, pajamas and brush his teeth. He wouldn't leave the bathroom and head to his room so I picked him up, only to be scratched on the sides of my face. (I look like I've been in a fight!) After we finally got him asleep, Marc and I were exhausted! We won't be doing Parent's Night Out like this again!

Yesterday, Will asked Hannah why she wasn't wearing diapers anymore she told him that she now wears underwear. Will said that he wanted underwear, too. I bought him some with his favorite Marvel comic characters on it and we tried out a pair after dinner. We told him it was important to notice when he needed to use the restroom and let one of us know. While we were playing in his room, Will said, "Mommy, the floor's wet!" Needless to say, he'd gone on the ground. We'll keep trying!October 14

Tonight we made pudding to celebrate Will getting a fireman sticker for napping at school. We, along with Will's teachers, are doing our best to provide positive incentives when Will follows naptime rules - if he's not sleeping, then he at least needs to lay quietly so as to not wake up his friends. As he earns stickers at school, he puts them on a fireman hat after naptime. For every fifth sticker, we'll get him a little toy.
