June 30

We invited Sophie and Sarah over for some playtime and dinner this evening. They were at their most harmonious while playing in the water table. Will made it a bit difficult to play together tonight, as every time Sophie picked up at toy, he suddenly needed to play with it. Goof ball.

June 29

Our big slugger. Marc is on a softball team with some guys from school and Will and I have loved going to see him play. Will *loves* to cheer when Marc hits the ball.

June 28

I picked Will up early today and he spent the better part of the afternoon playing by himself in the backyard. It was nice to straighten up the house and make dinner and be able to see Will having fun at the same time.

June 27

This morning Will and I spent time at Friendly Grove. He wasn't very interested in playing on the big toy. Instead, we did a lot of sword fighting with rhodie leaves.

June 26

Happy Birthday to me! Will was quite grumpy today, so I spent some by myself at the mall doing some shopping. Becky, Trina, Sarah and I ate a delicious dinner at Water Street and enjoyed a few pitchers at Fishtale. It was a fun night!

June 25

Marc brought home a Wagner's cake for my birthday and we decided to eat it tonight so that we could enjoy it in its prime. Needless to say, it was delicious!

June 24

It was a warm evening so Will and I headed to the Lee's to play in the pool. Poor Sydney is under there somewhere!

June 23

Hooray, Hooray! Last Day Today! Today marked the end of my 10th year of teaching and, boy, was it a rough one! This year's class will live in infamy. I've never been so happy to see the busses leave before in my life!

June 22

The painters have been hard at work on our house for the last few days -our new color is a lighter color tan than it was before. People must think we are crazy!

June 21

I made a pot of taco soup last week and there is always tons for the freezer. Thank goodness, because Will can't get enough of it. Tonight was his third time eating it in a week!

June 20

Happy Father's Day, Marc! Unfortunately, Dad didn't get a day off today, as I was sick with strep throat. Poor guy!

June 19

Today was Jeff and Michele's wedding reception and we had a great time! It was so fun to see all of the family and so many friends!

June 18

I made cupcakes for my reading group today and, of course, saved one for the little man.

June 17

I picked up these little Toy Story goggles for Will today and he wore them all night long.

June 16

It was a long afternoon. One that started with me dragging Will out of Old Navy kicking and screaming. Though we were only together about an hour before Marc got home, it felt like an eternity with a whiny boy who threw more tantrums than I could count. Why the gingerbread cookie? Marc took him on a bike ride after dinner so that I could have some quiet.

June 15

We had our fifth grade field trip at Fort Nisqually today. I loved hearing the history of our area and seeing the old artifacts. The kids' favorite? The gun, of course.

June 14

nuttin honey.

June 13

Will and I met the Lee ladies at Bufoot this morning for some playground fun. Will was quite bossy and whiny, so fun was not happening. Here is one moment where he wasn't "yelling" at Hannah for getting too close or doing the wrong thing. Poor girl.

June 12

It was a gorgeous day, so we spent the morning at Burfoot Park. Lucky for us, there was a group seining so we had the opportunity to see many interesting creatures. Will (and Mom) even touched a few of them!

June 11

My Spanish lavender is in bloom and the sun finally cooperated today. It's so hard to get these little bees tack sharp.

June 10

Tonight's menu was a hodgepodge. Will asked for both peanut butter with jam and nuggets. At least he also requested an apple.

June 9

This was in the mailbox today. Nothing says summer like s'mores!

June 8

Will's morning necessity as of late - a smoothie made from strawberries, orange juice and vanilla yogurt. The Starbucks cup? Also a necessity.

June 7

A dreary day today so we had to make do playing inside.

June 6

I thought I'd try to take a shot of the water dripping off the cherries as I washed them for the cherry crisp I was making today. I need to use a larger aperture and shutter speed next time I try this. Considering I was holding the cherry in one hand and my camera in another and the fact that I took all of 2 minutes setting up this shot, I'd say its not too bad.

June 5

Will and I spent nearly 30 minutes at the Farmer's Market this morning. Just enough time for him to eat a gingerbread cookie and then decide to not listen. I did manage to pick up some cherries before we had to cut our trip short and we enjoyed them once we got home.

June 4

Will and I enjoyed dinner and a movie with Sophie and Sarah tonight. I forgot my camera, so no picture today!

June 3

Though this picture is blurry, I love the look on Will's face. This is his natural, not smiling (or not smiling) at the camera look. I heart this face.

June 2

The perfect breakfast.

June 1

Frozen peas - one of the only vegetables Will eats. And, yes, he eats them frozen.

May 31

After recuperating from our disastrous Sunday, we spent our holiday getting the house ready for the week. Luckily, Will was content to play by himself for most of the day. He especially enjoyed spreading all of his art supplies out on the kitchen floor and getting creative.

May 30

We were packed and ready to leave Portland earlier than we had hoped because we had an out of control kid. Will didn't go to sleep until nearly 9:00 last evening, then woke at 3 and wanted in our bed. Neither Marc or I slept well after that and we were not ready to get up at 6:45. Will, however, had other plans - none of which involved listening to his parents. We tried to go out for breakfast and, right after we ordered, I ended up having to carry Will (kicking and screaming) back to the hotel while Marc waited for food to cook. It was a frustrating day, to say the least.

May 29

Today we went to Oregon to visit Grandma and Grandpa Daily. We picked up Todd and Alison and made our way to Lebanon. We had a nice visit with the grandparents, then headed to Thompson Flouring Mills to see Alison's daughter, Darryl. It was a fascinating place and Will even got a chance to grind some flour!
