September 1

While I was cooking dinner tonight, Will announced he was going outside, but was going to stay where I could see him. Wanting to see what he was up to, I headed out just in time to see him peeing on the lawn and take off his pants outside. I tried to get a photo, but Will kept running towards my camera. I liked how he was looking up in his photo and I'm especially fond of the eyelashes. I love them.

August 31

August 30

Tonight Marc went golfing, so Will and I were left to our own devices. We did a little shopping at Trader Joe's and picked up a pizza for dinner. The empty box made for a perfect shield and our little knight just loved it!

August 29

Little Miss Bianca turned one this week and we celebrated with her today. Bryan and Sasha hosted a lovely party and the birthday girl was all smiles!

August 28

Aargh, Matey! Pirates and their ships, real swords, dragon boats and, of course, ice cream. Will had a blast at the Tacoma Maritime Festival today!

August 27

August 26

August 25

Once again, Will played pants-less in the backyard tonight. Thank goodness he listened to reason and put them back on before climbing in his favorite tree.

August 24

Uncle Bob has often asked, "Doesn't that kid ever wear pants?" Yes, of course. However, there must be something appealing about going commando because Will often strips his pants off and enjoys a new found freedom. He'll do just about anything pants-less: eat his dinner, sit on the floor and play guys, run around, and, as you see here, play outside.

August 23

August 22

Showin' off his guns.

August 21

Will lucked out today. Dad bought Cinnamon Life and was kind enough to share some with Will for dessert. He didn't want to stop shoveling those little squares in his mouth!

August 20

We celebrated Mom's 55th birthday today. It was a hard day, but it was made easier because all of us kids came to show Mom our support. There is nothing our family can't handle. We love you, Momma.

August 19

Today you get a glimpse of our dinner table. What you don't see in this photo is the mess of crumbs on the floor, the broken slat on Will's chair, or the dirty hand prints all over the table. You do get to see my two boys deep in conversation - something there is no shortage of at our table. Will has definitely inherited my loquaciousness!

August 18

I've spent the last two days repainting the hall and family room a different shade of tan. It isn't that much lighter, but it is less green/yellow. It really brightens up the room!

August 17

It takes everything I have to get him to actually *look* at the camera. Love this face.

August 16

After being away for 4 days, we came home to find the blackberry bushes laden with fruit. We picked a ton and froze them...it will be nice to thaw out a bit of summer on a dreary winter day.

August 15

August 14

Today was busy and HOT! We started our day with a trip to the Kangaroo Farm, then headed to the Pow Wow. They needed a boy to "model" their tiger face and asked if I'd let him get painted for free. Um...yes! Dare I say he looks a little bit pretty with all of this make up on? Will loved his tiger face!

August 13

Will loved riding around Grandma and Grandpa's yard in the golf cart. First, Grandma let him drive, then Grandpa took him on adventures to find bad guys. Can't beat that!

August 12

Will and I headed to The Farm today for a weekend with the family. His first order of business was playing in the pool, which became even more fun when he found a water blaster that Gage had left behind.

August 10

Loving homemade smoothie popsicles for dessert. What a cutie!

August 9

It's been just shy of a year since Will moved into his room and I finally finished the curtains. I forgot how much I detest sewing, but that's the price to pay for cuteness.

August 8

Feeling better today, Will had two days' worth of energy to expend. He did a lot of sword fighting and spent some time at Percival Landing. (Look at that poor face!)

August 7

My poor, sick baby. Will spent the day on the couch (and toliet) with a stomach bug today. Late this afternoon, we took him on a wagon ride so that he could get some fresh air. Will attempted to jump out of it when we returned home, but his foot caught on the side and he went crashing onto the concrete. What a rough day!

August 6

We visited the fair today and Will tried his best at the children's trike pull. He was too young to compete, but the kind cowboys let him pedal his way to the end of the track so that he could get a ribbon. He was very proud.

August 5

We returned home from our trip to find our backyard having been attacked by moles. Marc is quite displeased after all his work on the lawn this year. The mole trap is now set.

August 4

Today we boarded the ferry to head home after a great vacation with friends. Will had a great time 'driving' the ferry and we were lucky enough to see some 'pirate ships' on our trip across the water.

August 3

Will had been in a pretty good mood on our vacation until today. At lunch, he refused to eat his sandwich for what seemed like an eternity. Everyone else left to go get ice cream, but we sat at the playground, waiting for Will to eat. Here he is contemplating eating his pb&j. It took a while, but he eventually gave in and ate the darn thing!

August 2

We had many great adventures today, but I opted for this photo of the Lavender farm that we visited. I love the combination of the purple and green.

August 1

A family photo! What a rare occurrence! Thanks to Ben for taking this picture of us as we set off on our adventure in the San Juans.

July 31

Today we headed up to the farm to spent time with the fam before heading to the San Juans. Will loved playing with the goats. I loved that Mom seems to have more energy than she has had in a long time!

July 30

Will loves playing in the hose. I've finally trained him to stop spraying me and/or the open door. Thank goodness!

July 29

No photo today...

July 28

Will recently watched 'The 3 Mouseketeers' and that's all he wants to play right now. Cast of characters:

Will: Donald
Marc: Mickey
Stuffed Hippo: Princess Daisy
Stuffed Monkey: Princess Minnie
Me: Pete the Bad Guy ( I just get told to go away and leave them alone while they are playing.)

July 27

Will and I have been checking the blackberry bushes, waiting for the berries to ripen. Today we were finally able to pick a handful of juicy ones and we can't wait for more!

July 26

Just a picture of the boy on the porch, waiting for Dad to get home.

July 25

Another nice day, another trip to Burfoot. Unfortunately, Will saw some jellies up near the top of the beach and was petrified of going into the water unless he was on his Orca. I can't believe that he was so scared today, when he was so eager to be in the same water just three days ago.

July 24

Becky, Sarah and I headed to Portland today for a night on the town. We had a nice day shopping doing what we wanted without worrying about our little ones. We enjoyed delicious cupcakes, beer, and, of course, a great dinner at Le Pigeon.

July 23

While I was getting him ready for bed, Will scampered out the sliding door and giggled endlessly as he ran through the hose as Marc was watering the lawn.

July 22

We picked up fourteen new books at the library yesterday. Today, Marc spent nearly an hour reading most of them to his little guy. Too sweet.

July 21

Becky and I took the kids to Burfoot and they had a fantastic time! The water was relatively warm (for Puget Sound) and very calm, so they just had a blast splashing and playing.

July 20

Will and I went to the zoo with Hannah, Sydney and their cousins today. The kids were so well behaved and we had a great time. (I was especially proud of Will, who shared and acted marvellously!) Highlights included riding a camel, feeding the budgies, and riding the carousel four times. We were literally there all day and didn't get home until after 4.

July 19

Marc worked hard on the yard all weekend and Will obviously missed hanging out with his Dad. After dinner tonight, Will looked at me and said, "I just want to be with Daddy." So, the two boys snuggled on the couch, ate popcorn and watched a little Hansel and Gretel.

July 18

Will and I spent time drawing at Roosevelt today. (Can't risk him drawing on our house now that it's cleaned and painted!)

July 17

Marc worked his hiney off in the yard today. Will and I kept ourselves busy; one of our activities was making cookies. We had one happy kiddo!

July 16

I found some Ewok cartoons on youtube. See the smile? 'Nuff said.

July 15

OMG. My child was a terror this evening - refusing to share anything with Hannah or Sydney and just being rude. Becky and the girls stayed for a while, but they ended up going home without even eating the food they brought over. Man, did I need an ice cold one tonight!

July 14

When I picked Will up from school today, he asked, "Are we going to Lakefair?" So we did. This may look like a smile, but you would be mistaken. Will was scared to go on most of the rides (thank goodness we didn't go to Legoland this year) and he actually had to have one of them stopped after only 3o seconds. Fun times.

July 13

Will and I met all of the ladies at Huntamer Park tonight to see a juggling acrobat. Will loved it - watching a man throw swords and knives around was right up his alley. The performer asked for volunteers several times throughout the show and I was surprised to see Will raise his hand to join in the fun. He jumped, flailed and waved like crazy trying to get the juggler's attention, but his on stage debut just wasn't in the cards today.

July 12

Happy 7th Anniversary! Marc and I spent the day cleaning and doing yard work - the first of what will be many days getting our house ready to sell. We anticipated vegging out at home with a Papa Murphy's pizza. Instead, thanks to Marc's nimble fingers, we ended up at Brewery City. Guess we did get to go out for dinner on our anniversary! (Yes, Marc was very annoyed that I told him to wait to clean up the mess until I got my camera!)

July 11

The love for all things Star Wars continues. Marc printed out some coloring pages today. Wil had to put on his Darth Vader mask to color in Yoda. I'm sure this violates many Jedi rules.

July 10

I took Will to a birthday party for one of his school buddies today. The kids were supposed to come dressed as their favorite superhero. Will stepped out the front door and said, "It's windy! Can I fly like superman?" I told him to try. He gave it a great running start, but just couldn't seem to get off of the ground.

July 9

We celebrated Marc's 36th birthday a day early today. Our celebration was early because Marc is spending his birthday looking at golf clubs tomorrow, so it worked. I love how Marc is looking at Will in this photo. Such a good Dad.

July 8

Our last day in Long Beach and we spent some time at the rides. I have taken many pictures of Will on this merry go round over the years, but I think this is my very first one where he is looking at the camera and smiling.

July 7

It is not often that temperatures on the coast reach 80 degrees and we kept saying how lucky we were to experience it. We had such a great time splashing in the surf!
